And the US launch party is Sunday, April 15, at 3:00 p.m., at Write Book and Gift -- the store co-owned by Hugo Award-finalist Nick DiChario -- in Honeoye Falls, NY.

In addition, I'll be traveling to 20 cities in the United States and Canada to promote the release of the ROLLBACK:

The early reviews for ROLLBACK have been great:

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY: "Sawyer, who has won Hugo and Nebula awards, may well win another major SF award with this superior effort." (starred review, denoting a work of exceptional merit)

QUILL & QUIRE (the Canadian publishing trade journal): "ROLLBACK is a reminder of why Sawyer is one of our most highly regarded writers of speculative fiction, able to handle the demands of the heart and the cosmos with equal skill."

ANALOG: "Extraordinarily fresh and thought-provoking. ROLLBACK is a thoroughly engaging story, with some of the most memorable people you'll ever meet."

SCIFIDIMENSIONS: "ROLLBACK is a shoo-in to be short-listed for next year's major awards."

The January/February 2007 issue of Analog included a short story of mine. And in the past week, the same magazine just accepted a novella (!) from me.

Dave Goldman, WOTF XXI

AND FROM STEPHEN KOTOWYCH (WOTF 23) IN TORONTO, CANADA

Just wanted to let you know that I've sold a new story. "Citius, Altius, Fortius" will appear in the anthology Tesseracts 11 , scheduled for release from EDGE Books in November 2007 . It will be my third publication this year (and third publication ever, coincidentally :)

"Citius, Altius, Fortius" is a story about corporate nations, the Olympics, genetic modification, and how dreams have a way of not turning out the way you expect.

The Tesseracts series of books began in 1985 (the first volume was edited by Judith Merril) as a showcase for Canadian SF. Each volume is edited by a rotating group of notables in the Canadian SF scene. This year's editors are Holly Phillips and Cory Doctorow, and past editors have included WOTF judge Robert J. Sawyer.

Best wishes,
Stephen ( http://kotowych.blogspot.com/ )

NEWS FROM SHAUN TAN, ILOF WINNER IN VOLUME 8

Shaun Tan, ILOF winner in volume 8, has gotten a special mention by the Bologna book fair for his book that he wrote and drew. NOTE: This is the largest Young Adults and Children book fair in the world and where the Harry Potter boom started. It is a big deal to get such mention in Bologna. Bologna is as big or bigger than the Book Expo America.

More News From our Winners Plus a New Country!

LEE BEAVINGTON (WOTF 22)

Here's an update on recent writing-related events in my life:

I had a reading today at Kwantlen University College for the "Celebrating our Students' Learning" event. The excerpt I chose was from "Remembrance: A Family Love Story," which chronicles the fateful meeting of my great-grandparents. Thomas Craven, 41, a wealthy priest with four degrees met Bridget McGrane, a sweet Irish lass, 19, poor and illiterate. They fell in love, changed their names and emigrated to Canada to escape the scandal their union stirred.

This was my first reading, making me extremely nervous. Being published in Writers of the Future definitely helped my confidence level. In fact, having a professional publication under my belt has been a boost in all areas of my writing.

I've also been invited to the Writers' Union of Canada AGM, which includes Margaret Atwood giving the Margaret Laurence talk on the Writers' Life. I'm honoured to be a student representative for Kwantlen. These conferences are always wonderful inspiration to shift into the writing gear.

Find out more about Lee at www.leebeavington.com

Thanks a bunch!

Cheers,
Lee

RANDALL ENSLEY (WOTF 23)

I had my interview with the New London Day and I will send you copies of that when it comes out.

I will be participating in Free Comic Book Day May 5, 2007, this year at Sarge's Comics in New London, CT appearing as a guest artist as I have the past 4 years.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thank you,
Randall

Not to be outdone by the troops in Iraq, here in Afghanistan we have lieutenant colonels reading Writers of the Future. Of course, it helps that LTC Carlson, the gentleman in the photo, sits across from one of the WotF winners!

Joseph Jordan (WOTF XXII)

JEFF CARLSON WRITTEN UP IN WALNUT CREEK JOURNAL

WOTF XXIII first quarter winner Jeff Carlson had a short article written about him in the Walnut Creek Journal, a weekly tri-city supplement of the Contra Costa Times in the San Francisco East Bay Area. The piece discussed the contest and Jeff's ongoing success, and also included an author photo.
