KD's Wentworth's Tribute

Algis Budrys was a dear, sweet, talented man with an outrageous sense of humor. He was not only a gifted writer with a sure feel for how to make his own fiction work, but also possessed an even rarer talent--how to pass that knowledge on. For years, he's been paying forward in the best tradition of our field, enriching the lives of aspiring writers, sharing his secrets with a free hand and an open heart. I never met a single person who didn't like him and he enjoyed the company wherever he went. We will all miss him.

We're Back from the Book Expo America (BEA) Convention

Dear All,

The Book Expo was in Los Angeles this year and was a
good year for L. Ron Hubbard titles and for the
Writers of the Future Volume XXIV.

Volume XXI winner Ken Scholes was there for a book
signing of his fantasy novel Lamentation, that will
release next year. Keep your eye out for that.
Charles Brown will be reviewing it in Locus magazine
as well.

We are also preparing for this years event which will
be in Malibu. Any and all contestants are welcome to
attend the event. Just e-mail me at
contests@authorservicesinc.com and I'll put your
name on the guest list.

Tomorrow, I promise to post a new service for you all
from contest judge Dave Wolverton (Dave Farland). Best, Joni
