Congrats to the honorable mentions!
This may be an odd place to ask, but I was wondering how the quarters were broken down; the rules say that a year ends on Sept 30, so that would make October-December 31 the first quarter...right? But it looks like results for the 4th quarter are being posted now which according to my (perhaps hugely false!) logic would be the submissions from June...?
I guess a simpler way of asking this is, is October the 1st quarter and July the 4th? Or is it the other way around?
I've confused myself =) hopefully someone can help me, but I may admitteldy be beyond help :D

Dear Sojourn,
Correct, October through December
is the 1st quarter. The 4th quarter
goes from July through September. We still get postmarked submissions in from around the world 3 weeks after the deadline. Then the judging occurs, etc. It takes a while. Hope that helps.

Curious,
Honorable Mention isn't listed in the WOTF faq page. Is it equivalent to the Quarterfinalists category?

Shawn,
Yes, Honorable Mention is the same as quarterfinalist. We changed the name because it was too close to
"finalist" for the quarter. It was confusing so we changed the name.
