    About 10-15 hours a week.

    How did I get inspired? Well, I suppose it's a little like religion. When people get born again they get a kind of high that makes them want to save everyone else, just to spread all that positive energy around. For me, writing was the same way. I was moved by the stories I read, and I, in turn, wanted to move others.

    What and Who?

    Watching Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back for the first time and Mark Russo. I was about seven at the time that I wrote my first story. Mr. Russo was a teacher who turned me from being a C student to straight As. He pushed me to try new things when I was bored in class.

    One of those new things was creating a fanfic piece where Luke and Darth Vader fought as they ran through a city floating on water. Unfortunately the story is lost forever thanks to the military and more moves than I have fingers to count. I remember reading a Star Wars Comic book later which was strikingly similar to my story.

    How long do I write each week?
    Varies tremendously. Usually about 10 hours, although it can be as little as 5 hours and as many as 30 hours. I try to consistently write 2 hours a day on weekdays and then as I have time on weekends.

    1) What or who inspired you to be a writer?

    Of course, I don't count myself as an official writer yet.

    Short Answer: Roger Zelazny

    Long Answer:

    Authors{Roger Zelazny, Orson Scott Card, Tolkien, Philip José Farmer, Gentry Lee}

    Movies{Back to the Future, Unbreakable, Signs, LOTR, Spider-man}

    TV{Quantum Leap, Magnum PI, The Twilight Zone, The Incredible Hulk}

    Music{Yes, Gentle Giant, early Genesis, ELP, Marillion, Magma, PFM, Univers Zero, Jean Michel Jarre}

    2) How much time per week do you devote to writing?

    Short answer: Never enough.

    Long answer: If the inspirational winds are good, anywhere 5 to 10 hours, not counting time editing, proofing, reading, being dragged to the grocery store, vegetating, and finding other ways to procrastinate or goof off.

    I don't even remember what inspired me, though I suspect "The Last Unicorn" may have had something to do with it when I was maybe four. J. K. Rowling kicked me into writing novels. With luck, I may actually publish one before long.

    As for how much time I spend writing, let's just say I'm looking forward to being able to quit my full-time day job. I'll be nice to cut back to 40- or 60-hour weeks.
