Writing Contests - Are We The Best?

Dear All,

I'm looking for little blurbs from people about the contest. Let me know.
Also, this week I'll be featuring the illustrators that just won, showing all three of their winning entries and we will also have the writer winners for the 3rd quarter in the next couple of days. Stay tuned! Best, Joni

It's a great contest! It's well-respected and well-known, FREE to enter and the results are determined by professional writers--and in a timely manner. All of those things make it The Best avenue available for new writers (and illustrators).

Every notice I've seen about the contest came from scholarship opportunities posted on university and community college financial aid pages. For aspiring writers, the combination of possible financial aid and an outlet for their stories makes the contest valuable. In addition, accessing the contest site also provides links to writing advice and an entire network of services and organizations for writers.

The Writers and Illustrators of the Future Awards are the best contest and awards ceremony in the world for aspiring artists and writers. I am a recent recipient of an Illustrators of the Future award and can say with authority that the experience was irreplaceable and will never be forgotten. The gracious benefactors of the contest at Author Services and Galaxy Press were excellent hosts and treated all of winners like luminaries in the science fiction and fantasy field (in addition to be treated like a star, you actually get to meet with and receive knowledge from real stars. Check out the list of judges and you'll see what I mean.)
I also encourage any interested artists and writers to visit the Writers of the Future website http://www.writersofthefuture.com/ and watch the videos of this year's Gold Award winners, Stephen Kotowych and Lorraine Schleter. Their works were well deserving of the honors they received.
Please look at examples of previous winners artwork and, if you feel you can produce similar quality works, Go For It! You have nothing to lose and much to gain in publicity, prize money and worldwide exposure to your art.
    Good Luck!

It's been a long "couple of days".

    Who are the winners?

And where's the rest of that fantastic artwork?
