I Want To Hear From You!

I often wonder when I post information on this blog just who I'm communicating to. I would love to get some kind of feedback as to who visits this site. I'd like to hear from you. In fact, if you'd like to send me photos as an attachment of something you think this audience would be interested in, feel free to.

In the mean time, stay tuned for two rather significant announcements this week.

There is quite a bit happening in regards to the contests.

Best regards,

Joni Labaqui - Director of the Writers of the Future Contest

    Joni,

Well I'm a Writer's of the Future contestant in my 30s. My primary reason for checking here is to get the most current information on my entry(ies). Beyond that, the rest of the information is interesting and a good diversion.

Hi, Joni, I periodically come lurking through the site, both in the hope of seeing more details on this year's workshop and to steal career tips and ideas from prior winners.

I regularly check this site by hand because your RSS feed doesn't work properly (Google Reader never says there's an update).

I post at the Without Even Trying blog on subjects that might be of interest to new writers.

I was also a Semi-Finalist last quarter for my story "Mannequin Empire". I have a story pending this quarter and have one ready for the next. The rewards of winning the contest are so great that a new writer would be foolish not to submit as often as they can".

I'm a contestant, and I check here periodically to see where the judging is. I'm a former fanfic writer attempting to go pro.

I read to get regular updates on the contest. I've submitted once and have something in preparation to submit in the future.

I've also noticed the RSS feed doesn't work. I tried both the "Atom" link and the RSS button in my browser's address window, and both give me errors:

    Feed Address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/writersofthefuture

    HTTP Error Code: 404

Detail: Feed not found error: FeedBurner cannot locate this feed URI.

I just here to find out the latest news on the contest since I'm submitting my first story tomorrow. I feel rather young and out of place...

I'm looking for tips, since my last submission was rejected. (Does a hand written "nice try, try again" mean it wasn't all that bad?)
